Governor

All Saints Church of England Primary School Governors

Mr Simon Fox – Chair of Governors

Foundation Governor

I live in Montacute with my wife Rebecca and two children, Harry who is now 6 and starting Yr2 and Emily who is 4 and is starting Acorns in Sept this year. This is now my 4th year as a Governor and 1st complete year as Chair. It has been a challenging and rewarding time but we, the Governing Body and Staff are seeing some fantastic results so it is all worth the effort.

Miss Janet Young – Vice Chair

Foundation Governor

I have been a Governor at All Saints for 4 years. I originally lived in Devon, working at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital but moved to Yeovil in 1999, working at Yeovil District hospital for 10 years until I retired in 2010. I have always had a keen interest in education and since retiring, I work part time at Westfield Academy, working with children who have special educational needs. I am a member of St. Catherine’s and involve myself in many of the village activities.

Mr Chris Chambers

Foundation Governor

I moved to Odcombe in 2002 and then to Montacute in 2007. During this time I was undertaking a career in the Royal Navy and had heard of the reputation of All Saints Primary School long before I had children at the school. I have a step-daughter just leaving the school (July 2014) and my 4 year old daughter just about to commence her schooling. Having seen the obvious enthusiasm which the school imbues into their pupils, and the active community ethos which the school possesses, I am delighted to be accepted as a Foundation Governor. I now run my own company in Yeovil and look forward to being involved in All Saints Church of England Primary School.

Mr Nic Laycock

Foundation Governor

My passion is learning! I have had nearly 50 years of involvement ranging from Church young people’s work through to the Governance of a huge secondary school/tertiary college complex, as a Council member of the Academy of the e-Learning Guild in the USA, and a global professional career in managing and leading learning in the work place. I am currently seen as a global thought leader in the use of the internet and technology in learning. As a Foundation Governor of the school I wish to offer that experience to help in the safe development of 21st century life skills for the children of All Saints within the ethos and values of a Christian Church school in the village that is my wife’s and my home.

Mrs Deryl Rennie

Foundation Governor

Having lived in Odcombe for the first 18 years of my life I returned to the village in 2002. Since my retirement in 2005 I have undertaken a variety of voluntary work including being on the PCC of St Peter’s and St. Paul’s Lufton and Odcombe and vice chairman of Odcombe Parish Council.

Mr Martin Rust

Foundation Governor

I became a Foundation Governor in 2013 and have very much enjoyed working with Simon, Paula and the rest of the All Saints team. My family and I are members of St Catherine’s Montacute and I am delighted by the strong Church ethos and values of the school. I work as a scientist locally and am link Governor for Mathematics.

Local Authority Governor

Appointment in progress

Mrs Sherril Atkins

Staff Governor

I live in Yeovil with my husband and we have two children. I have attended governor meetings since becoming Deputy Head Teacher at All Saints in September 2011, and became the ‘Staff Governor’ in September 2013. I believe that every child has the right to receive the very best education, and so I am very pleased to be part of the governing body, working with others to ensure that All Saints continues to be a caring and supportive school, where children thrive.

Mr Jeremy Dawkins

Parent Governor

Having previously served as a Governor at another school, I am delighted to have the opportunity to serve again, this time as a Parent Governor at this remarkable school. I have lived in this area for 35 years working in International Sales and Marketing for manufacturing companies and look forward to a happy and fruitful relationship with the school, the teachers, and the fellow governors.

Mr Andrew Morgan

Parent Governor

I am honoured to have been elected as a Parent Governor for the school. I have two children at the school, Ben and Charlotte. When not DJing at the school disco’s, I work as a Finance Director and will be trying to put my skills to good use on the Business Committee. I look forward to becoming more formally involved in the school and I hope that I can have a positive impact on the present and future of what is already a great place for our children to learn and develop.
